Country by country
Each country is its own model, so these are 8 independent checks, and 7 confirm it. The exception is Greece, where almost every hotel already has it. For comparison, a fan lifts the score reliably only in Germany.

Before you rely on it
Is this just a correlation?
Yes: strong associations after holding price, stars, size, location and the length of the amenity list constant, with each country modelled on its own and every effect checked over hundreds of resamples. They show where the data points, not what will happen in a single property.
Does it apply to my property?
The numbers here are for a typical midscale hotel in Germany. The study models each of the eight countries and six property types separately; the homepage shows the three strongest moves for yours, free.
Where does the data come from?
Publicly displayed listing data from a major online booking platform for every hotel, aparthotel, guesthouse, inn and hostel with at least 20 reviews in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Austria: 143,182 properties, collected in October 2026. Costs are planning estimates for a 40-room midscale hotel in Germany, purchase or build plus three years of running costs.
